9 INTIMATE OCCASIONS WE ALL ATTEND- WHAT TO WEAR FOR EVERY OCCASION

Hey! why should I dress up according to the occasion? Why should I stick to some dress code? And do I need to know now what to wear for every occasion!!?

This is how it works in the real world; most people make snap judgments about us from the clothes we wear. They read your message about your personality from the way you look. What you wear to any of these occasions depends on many factors: the venue, the formality of the invite, the weather, and often what everyone else plans to wear. And because, as they say, “First impressions always last,” dressing most certainly matters.

In our life, we will participate in various occasions, and knowing how to dress during these occasions will show everyone that you respect the general mood of the events and people participating. And that is my friend, called “DRESSING ART.”
And once you choose the right dress, that will make you feel confident about your look, ensuring that you maintain eye contact and the proper posture for positive perceptions.
Below, we present nine essential occasions you will attend, how to dress for every occasion and translate every event’s dress code.

1- A wedding

As a guest, your wedding dress choice must be based on the dress code, but of course, there are other aspects to consider, like the location, time of day, and season.
A wedding usually is a black-tie or a white-tie event unless the bride and the groom have decided to theme it to something else.

Women should never forget to steer clear of white, ivory, or champagne dress. They shouldn’t steal attention from the bride; short dresses and light-colored suits or trouser suits for the day; long skirts or long day dresses are acceptable if the dress code is more casual.
Deeper shades, more traditional fabrics, and long dresses suit the evening. It is floor-length gowns for weddings, but the etiquette rules are softening; knee-length dress is equally acceptable. Accessorize according to the mood of the event.

For gentlemen, choose your look depending on the formality of the occasion. First, check if tuxedos are expected. If not, and it is a casual wedding dress code, then Suits, sports coats or blazers, and evening suits are always correct; choose the colors suitable for the time and the season.

2- A cocktail party

A cocktail party is essentially an informal social gathering where you dress almost formally, so the dress code for a cocktail party is “dressy-casual,” i.e., semi-formal, so you can’t go wrong if you wear an Off-Shoulder Knee-length Dress, Chic Dress, Knee-length Midi or Maxi Dress, Sophisticated knee-length Evening Dress, Long Semi-formal Dress or a top with some fine details and a skirt or tailored pants, plus heels or fancy flats.

Men’s cocktail attire accommodates suit, coat, and tie, while women’s attire is a knee-length dress with some frill. It’s acceptable if your dress is a little above your knee; avoid very low-cut clothing if you want attention on your face and what you say.

And always remember the golden rule: when dressing for any event or occasion, you must consider your body shape before purchasing the perfect occasion dress.

PARTIES OF ANY KIND (HOLIDAY, DINNER, OR BUSINESS)

These occasions let you push the limits on glitz and color. So, almost anything goes, as long as it’s nice enough to suit the venue and event.

3- Dinner party

First, you need to know that not all dresses look lovely in all body shapes, and not all colors would look great with your skin color. Suit up in your cocktail attire if it is a formal dinner party. It is always wiser to ask the host for advice.

Then you can use whatever is your choice with cheerful colors and glitzy dresses like Halter neck short party dresses, long-sleeved mini dresses, embellished party dresses, metallic party dresses, strapless dresses, and of course, the lion outfit that can be suitable for almost any party, the little black dress.
Usually, you will choose the right outfit from above depending on many variables like the weather, the location, and the party theme you are attending to avoid being strange from the surrounding atmosphere.

4- Business/company dinner party

The dress code here is “smart-casual,” i.e., casual but work-appropriate. When you dress for a business dinner, choose outfits that make you look conservative and professional, like gowns or A-line-shaped attire. Don’t dress up in a costume that is too provocative. If you want to give a good impression, dressing provocatively on any company occasion won’t take you seriously; you may dress in the same attire for your work if it is right after work or change it if it takes place later in the evening and then ensures your business attire is polished before you leave for the event.

You don’t necessarily have to wear a dress, but Make sure your skirt or dress length is knee-length or below. Of course, you may also wear pants or a suit skirt with a blouse, and in my opinion, avoid wearing any outfit with low necklines, and the last thing is to make sure that your choice should be based on the event’s location and time.
Of course, the best thing to do if you’re unsure about what you should wear for an event, you can always ask the host. It’s better to ask than to dress inappropriately.

5- Graduation

The outfit that is suitable for a graduation ceremony should be something that the graduate will be proud to look back on in photos. It should strike a balance between not being overly formal yet not too casual either. A knee-length dress with floral patterns in white or any warm color is recommended. To complement the outfit, consider wearing graduation makeup that reflects your personal style. Complete the look with comfortable footwear such as flats, sandals, wedges, or low heels that will allow you to walk easily during the ceremony.

6- Holiday Parties

You’ll have several of these parties running across every year. With the sheer number of parties that will be scheduled, you’ll have to vary up your outfits for each event. You can experiment with clothes, colors, and combinations since there are fewer restrictions during the holiday season.

To stay on the safe side, go for a bright dress at the company Christmas party, for example, and then find a shiny one for a reunion with friends. If the weather is cold, you can choose a dress of any length or go for a flashy jumpsuit or a tailored suit in a festive Christmas color for a warmer option.
Don’t be afraid to embellish your dress or suit with fun accessories like necklaces, dangling earrings, feathers, or sequins.

7- An interview

When you go for a job interview, you are asking them to judge you, then your personality and what you want them to know about you are vital. And as your clothes are the most apparent and most obvious message they can notice from first sight and are the bottom line between remaining or leaving the interview, you must choose your interview outfit well.

Your attire should reflect that you are disciplined and committed, so look polished; a suit is the standard attire for an interview, and you can never go wrong with dressing in a navy suit; veering too trendy or casual can be off-putting. For ladies, pencil skirts are an excellent choice for this occasion; steer clear of jangly, distracting jewelry. Finally, a watch would suffice and serve well for both men and women, as it shows you value time.

8- A funeral

As you are in mourning or simply sharing someone’s mourning, you should always keep your outfits neat, respectful, and modest; After all, simple classic styles will not offend anyone.
For ladies,
the safest attire to wear to a funeral is a pantsuit or knee-length dress with a cardigan or jacket on top; opt for quiet and refined jewelry like pearls.
Men can put on a dark suit if that doesn’t look festive.

As for the colors, black is the safest choice, but it’s not the only choice; you can always go for other dark neutrals like navy, charcoal, or forest green. Dark and discrete patterns are also perfectly acceptable.

9- Family Get-Together, Barbecues, or Birthday Parties

This is the most relaxing and spontaneous gathering you will have. After all, this is Family.
The standard code is casual; anything goes. Go laid-back with your choices and get comfortable; dress mainly according to your physique, time, and season.
Relax with a pair of nice jeans, a fun top, stylish sneakers, sandals, or flats. For ladies, wear something casual like a sundress, a skirt, or pants with a pretty top. As for men, wear something comfortable like a sweater or a polo shirt.

Finally
We live only one life; we must cherish and live it as free and happily as possible; I think the most important thing is to eat, drink, and, of course, wear whatever you like, not what people want you to. Of course, there is a dress code for every occasion you attend and participate in. Still, I think the best-case scenario is that we’re dressing for both: because it boosts our self-esteem and because we want to look situationally appropriate; as we all know, in most situations, first impressions do matter.
